Let it be, let it be! Sensual and organic, our LiveEdge tables are unlike any other - and not just because every specimen is different. We treat each slab to structural analysis and careful aesthetic consideration before presenting three to five options for your project.
Bark is removed using a Japanese draw-knife, retaining the tree's cambium layer. Cuts are chalked and the specimen is flattened, leaving it as thick as possible. Imperfections are filled with clear or black resin epoxy (no crumb-catchers!) and the piece is sanded perfectly smooth, before a painstaking rag-applied oil finish lovingly creates iridescence, rich color and a velvet surface.
