Measuring For Delivery

Your furniture doesn't just need to fit where it belongs. It needs to fit through your doors and up your stairs. Here's how to avoid delivery downers.

Tight turns, compact elevators and enclosed staircases can prevent you from getting the furniture you love into its rightful place. Our furniture is built one piece at a time and just for you (literally YOU), so let's avoid an awkward conversation by making sure the perfect fit doesn't get dashed on delivery day.

Use the standard measurements of your made-to-order piece or specify custom dimensions to get started. Schedule a home measure to benefit from an expert. Unlike some companies that say handmade means inexact, our measurements are precise.

  1. Measure the height, width, diagonal width, depth and diagonal depth of any piece you plan to bring into your home.

  2. Measure the height and width of any doorway, elevator or stairwell that the furniture needs to get through.

  3. Compare these measurements, and if you're unsure, call us.

If you need something that doesn't seem to fit naturally, there are sometimes creative ways of getting your furniture home. We have used cranes and balconies, and brought things in before doors and windows are installed... where there's a will!

P.S. Please forgive the quality of this photo. We're furnituremakers, not videographers (this is a still from a c.2015 video), but I had to include it for obvious reasons.
